Story
Guernsey postal independence from British GPO on 1 October 1969. Commercialised as Guernsey Post Ltd on 1 October 2001. Postal history on the island dates back to 1794. First pillar boxes in Britain trialled in Channel Islands in 1852 by Anthony Trollope.
Guernsey Post Ltd is the States-owned postal operator for the Bailiwick, incorporated in 2001 and headquartered at Envoy House in St Peter Port. It operates 11 post offices and handles around 40 million mail items annually, offering letters, parcels, tracked delivery, and 12 stamp issues per year. Trading subsidiaries include BATIF bureau de change, HR Air freight logistics, and myUKaddress UK shopping proxy. An all-electric home delivery fleet and 654 solar PV panels at Envoy House support its sustainability commitments. Regulated by the OUR and licensed by the GFSC. —
