Story

Originally founded as the Sunflower Trust in memory of 10-year-old Megan Fuller who lost her battle with cancer in 1995. Her mother Mary Fuller ran the charity. Young People Guernsey (now the Youth Commission) adopted the charity and rebranded it as the Sunflower Project in 2014.

Sunflower Project is a free bereavement support service for children and young people aged 7–18, run as a programme of the Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney. Founded as the Sunflower Trust in 1995 and rebranded in 2014, it provides one-to-one counselling, family sessions, a monthly peer-support club, remembrance events, and an annual residential weekend on Herm. Professional training on childhood grief is also available. —
