Jersey Co-operative Society founded 1919; Guernsey Co-operative Society founded 1947; merged in 1955 to form Channel Islands Co-operative Society. Celebrated 100th anniversary in 2019.

Channel Islands Co-operative Society is a consumer cooperative with over 120,000 members, operating supermarkets (Grand Marché), convenience stores (Locale) and fuel forecourts (En Route) across Guernsey and Jersey, alongside pharmacy, funeral care and travel services. Founded in 1955 from the merger of the Jersey (est. 1919) and Guernsey (est. 1947) cooperatives, it runs 10 stores across Guernsey and employs around 1,150 people. —
