Story
Channel Islands Air Search began in 1980 as Guernsey Air Search, founded by Captain Roger Dadd and three colleagues. Friends of Air Search groups operate in each of the four major Channel Islands to raise funds.
Guernsey Friends of Air Search is a registered Guernsey charity (CH040) and the local fundraising committee for Channel Islands Air Search, the voluntary airborne search and rescue service covering Channel Island waters. Based at the CI Air Search Hangar in Forest, the committee raises funds through quiz nights, bingo nights, flag days, Christmas fayre and late-night shopping stalls, an annual draw, merchandise sales, and a foreign currency donation scheme, working towards an annual funding target of £300,000. —
