Guernsey Prison is the Bailiwick's only custodial facility, operated by the States of Guernsey. Situated in St Sampson, it was established in 1989 and has a certified capacity of 134. It houses male, female, young offenders, and vulnerable prisoners across 11 wings. Services include primary healthcare, education and training, rehabilitation programmes, and offender management. It introduced a full smoking ban in January 2013, reported as the second prison in Europe to do so. —
