Story

Formerly Guernsey Grammar School (est. 1985), renamed Les Varendes High School in September 2023 following removal of eleven-plus exams and merger with La Mare de Carteret High School. Sixth Form Centre separated September 2024, relocating to La Mare de Carteret building.

Les Varendes High School is a non-selective, state-funded secondary school in St Andrew, serving pupils aged 11–16. It was formed in September 2023 from the merger of the former Guernsey Grammar School and La Mare de Carteret High School, following the abolition of the eleven-plus. The Sixth Form Centre separated in September 2024. Feeder schools include Amherst, Notre Dame, St Mary and St Michael, and Vauvert. The school's motto is Qui veult peult (Those who want to, can).
