Story

Founded 10 October 1872, modelled on Cheltenham Ladies' College. Evacuated to Denbigh, Wales during WWII. Melrose prep school acquired 1949. Foundation stone for new building laid by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Ladies' College Guild (alumnae association) formed 1905

The Ladies' College is an independent all-through day school for girls aged 2–18 in St Peter Port, founded in 1872 and modelled on Cheltenham Ladies' College. It comprises Pre-School, Melrose primary, Senior School, and Sixth Form sections, serving approximately 400 students. Around a third of places are grant-aided by the States of Guernsey. Sixth form students share a co-educational partnership with Elizabeth College. The college is a member of the Girls' Schools Association and holds registered charity number Ch311.
