Men's Shed Guernsey

St Pierre du Bois

Story

Inspired by Patrick Abrahams' talk about Frome Men's Shed at a 2016 conference; site cleanup of former Sandpiper Vinery began 2017 (40+ tonnes debris removed); opened to public 16 November 2019; survived COVID with virtual SHEDcast sessions; ongoing facility improvements through 2023+

Men's Shed Guernsey is a registered charity (CH585) and community workshop established in 2016 at Sandpiper Vinery, St Pierre du Bois, co-located with Edible Guernsey and a Makerspace. It offers woodworking, metalworking, CNC machining, 3D printing, laser cutting and engraving, wood turning, and sewing, alongside social gatherings and mentorship. Four weekly sessions run Monday, Wednesday, Thursday evening, and Saturday. Founded by Marcel Lenormand and chaired by Derrick Thatcher, with Male Uprising Guernsey as a partner organisation.
