Guernsey Botanical Trust LBG is a registered charity (CH415) operating the Victorian Walled Kitchen Garden at Saumarez Park in the Castel, established in 2006 by Raymond J. Evison OBE VMH. An entirely volunteer-run project with no paid staff, it cultivates over 300 Victorian-period varieties of vegetables, fruit and flowers, including rare Guernsey heritage plants such as Guernsey Chives and the Guernsey Demi-Longue Parsnip. The garden offers free entry, guided tours, education programmes for schools, a garden shop (La Choppe), seasonal produce and plant sales, and Gatehouse room hire. Patrons include the Lieutenant Governor and the Bailiff of Guernsey. —
