Founded 31 July 1897 as the Guernsey Evening Press. Purchased the Guernsey Star in 1951, becoming the Guernsey Evening Press and Star. Absorbed La Gazette Officielle (published since 1791) and The Star (published since 1813), representing over 200 years of unbroken publication.

Guernsey Press is the island's only daily newspaper, published Monday to Saturday since 1897. Its lineage traces to La Gazette Officielle (1791) and The Star (1813), absorbed through successive mergers. Registered as The Guernsey Press Company Ltd (No. 12) and owned by The Channel Islands Media Group, it publishes Business Brief and the Inspire lifestyle magazine alongside its print and digital newspaper, and operates online marketplaces for jobs, property, and motors. —
