Story

Founded 1983 by Jurat Dr John & Mrs Jackie Bulstrode. Funded Guernsey's first Gamma camera (£119,000). Built Bulstrode House day hospice (£340,000, handed to Board of Health 1997). Hospice relocated to Bulstrode Oncology Unit at PEH in 2010.

Guernsey Society for Cancer Relief is a registered charity (CH017), founded in 1964 by Jurat Dr John and Mrs Jackie Bulstrode. It provides financial and practical assistance to cancer patients and their families without means testing, covering travel and accommodation costs for UK treatment, home nursing care, complementary therapy, utility bill assistance, home aids, taxi transport to Bulstrode Oncology Unit, and volunteer support. Annual patient spend averages £140,000. The Society was awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2014 and is entirely funded by donations and fundraising.
