Founded 1936 in memory of King George V. Officially opened by the Lieutenant Governor on 31 August 1939. Requisitioned during WWII German occupation (1940-1945) and used as Lager Ute prisoner camp. Restored post-war with cricket resuming 1949. Princess Anne opened new facilities on 3 May 1986. 3G pitch completed as part of £3.5m regeneration. Major clubhouse improvements completed 2020.
