Methodism brought to Alderney in 1787 by Adam Clarke; current building opened 1852; used by German occupying forces during WWII; nearly closed in 1983 when membership fell to 8; one of the first churches to have a website and ran a cyber-cafe in its school hall

Alderney Methodist Church, also known as Butes Methodist Church, is a small place of worship on Alderney with around 30 members. The current building opened in 1852. Services include Sunday worship, communion, weddings, funerals, Bible study, and a fortnightly lunch club. The wheelchair-accessible church hall is available for hire and hosts several community groups. Part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey Methodist Circuit and Alderney Churches Together. —
