Story

Church on this site since before 1048 (mentioned in Royal Charter). Pre-Christian pagan shrine site. Once in possession of Abbey of Moutiers, France. Architecture similar to early Celtic churches of Brittany, Ireland and West Wales. Built in stages: 11th century southeast corner, 13th century nave/tower/chancel, 15th century north aisle. Major restoration 1891 by Rev E.F.P. Colman; vestries added 1922. Lych Gate is a war memorial to fallen of both World Wars.

Forest Parish Church is an Anglican (Church of England) place of worship in the Forest parish, dedicated to Ste Marguerite (St Margaret) of Antioch. One of Guernsey's oldest churches, with origins before 1048, it features a 13th-century nave, bell tower, and a ring of six bells. The church offers regular worship services, weddings, funerals, baptisms, a flower festival, and a summer concert series. —
