Story

John Wesley proposed a mission to Sark in 1787. Jean de Quetteville began preaching c.1789 and dedicated the original chapel at La Ville Roussel in 1797. The chapel was later dismantled and relocated stone-by-stone to Rue du Sermon. The current Wesleyan Chapel was commissioned in April 1926.

Sark Methodist Church is a place of worship on Sark, founded in 1797 when Jean de Quetteville dedicated the original chapel. The current Wesleyan Chapel on Rue du Sermon was commissioned in 1926. In ecumenical partnership with St Peter's Anglican Church, it offers Sunday worship, sacraments, weddings, baptisms, and funerals, and operates the Sark Sanctuary Centre — a community hall hosting conferences, cinema screenings, and weekly community groups. —
