Family Proceedings Advisory Service (FPAS) is an independent, state-funded government service, operating since 2006 (as the Safeguarder Service), constituted as FPAS under the Children (Guernsey and Alderney) Law 2008, that safeguards and promotes the welfare of children and young people involved in Family Court proceedings. Its qualified adviser-mediators — all trained social workers — offer court-referred advisory work, free mediation, conflict resolution, contact supervision, adoption case advisory, and Community Parenting Order assessments. Self-referral is accepted for mediation. Formerly the Safeguarder Service and Court Welfare Service. —
