Story

Mid-15th century Guernsey farmhouse and barn, originally a two-storey longhouse with open hall, parlour, sleeping quarters, and rear tourelle staircase. After neighbouring farmhouse built in 1840, repurposed as stables and cow shed. Bequeathed to the National Trust of Guernsey in 1993 by Miss Ruth Le Huray. Carefully restored by CCD Architects to reinstate appearance circa 1800-1840, with new oak-framed roof with water reed thatch, rebuilt fireplaces, furze oven, wattle-and-daub chimney hood, and reconstructed tourelle staircase. Shortlisted for RIBA Ibstock Downland Prize 2007.

Les Caches Farm is a heritage farmhouse complex in Forest parish, managed by the National Trust of Guernsey. The buildings span the 15th to 19th centuries, centred on a restored two-storey longhouse with a thatched roof, vaulted ceiling, and traditional architectural features including a furze oven and tourelle staircase. The site is free to visit and offers heritage tours, venue hire for events, and educational programmes. Grounds are open year-round.
