Story
Missionary monks visited Herm in the 6th century including followers of St Tugual. Norman monks lived on the island for several decades. The Wood family reopened the chapel and cleared its windows after taking the island lease in 1949
St Tugual's Chapel is an 11th-century non-denominational chapel on Herm, named after a 6th-century Celtic missionary. Listed on the Guernsey Register of Ancient Monuments and Protected Buildings, it seats 70 and is licensed for religious ceremonies including weddings. Managed by the Deanery of Guernsey. —
