Originally established as Customs and Excise in 1975, renamed to Customs and Immigration, then Guernsey Border Agency, and rebranded to Guernsey Customs and Immigration Service on 1 January 2026 to better reflect its role in a post-Brexit context

Formally founded 10 April 1920; professional policing predecessors from 1853. Operated through German occupation of Channel Islands (1940-1945). Led investigation into Emiliano Sala disappearance (2019). Celebrated centenary in 2020.

Founded 1922 when States of Guernsey assumed responsibility. Moved to Town Arsenal site in 1935, buildings previously used by the Royal Guernsey Militia. Renamed from Guernsey Fire Brigade to Fire and Rescue Service in 2005.
